👏This new feature aims to revolutionize team collaboration in Power BI reporting development.

Power BI Project files PBIP now support PBIR, 𝐚 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨-𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬.

To get started with PBIR:

✅𝐄𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐈 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐤𝐭𝐨𝐩 (refer to the image).

✅𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐏𝐁𝐈𝐏 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐁𝐈𝐑

✅𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫: the report metadata will be organized in 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 “\𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧” (compared to previously being saved inside a single 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭.𝐣𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞).
This structure separates each report component into individual files within the \𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 folder.
Each page, visual, bookmark, etc., is organized into separate individual files within this folder structure, significantly aiding in resolving co-development conflicts.

By using PBIR in a Git repository, we can track every change made to our reports granularly, making merge conflict resolution straightforward and enabling a clear understanding of modifications.
